Vermont School Houses

Tuesday, September 15th @ 7pm @ the Orwell Free Library (part of the Orwell and Shoreham Libraries Keynote Speakers Series)Charlie Farrell created the Vermont Schoolhouse Project in 2006 to document all of Vermont’s Schoolhouses. This presentation will outline the history of Vermont education, highlighting Orwell’s schoolhouses. Charlie will also share Vermont facts and trivia like how two future U.S. Presidents taught school in the basement of a Congregational Church in Pownal.

Wet-Felted Soap

Join local fiber artist and designer Wendy-Ann Durkee at the library for a workshop where we'll make wet-felted soap. This makes an excellent beginner project for wet-felting and also a charming gift. Registration is limited to 10 participants, ages 12 and up. Workshop costs $10 / person (workshop price is subsidized by the Platt Library). Wear clothes that can get wet.
